“And we are back, wassup kings and queens or whatever royalty you identify as its me the bad boy royal overlord Tyrant king of helios Brendan, AKA FangoverFang. Coming off the massive success of the preseason power rankings I am back to dash out ego points and crush confidence. This ranking of course is based on who I think the better team is at the moment. Not where they will finish. This week I am only going to be ranking 7 out of the 8 luna league teams. While COF won all their games by sheer fear forcing their opponents into submission before even playing their games, we have yet to see them play in the circus. To counteract my white roots I will be spicing my food by adding in Player Name rankings, along with the highest power levels.”
- Brendan (FangOverFang)
8th(?) - COF(?)
Church of Alphonzo didn’t play this week due to a forfeit from HBK and SKL.
7th - TAS [-2]
Player Name Ranking: 2nd
TAS as a team have great individual players, their mechanics being better than most players at their rank level. It's their macro that really holds this team back leaving tossing coins not to the witcher, but to fate. They often take plays without thinking of it’s consequences. While I think them regaining Dotiee to the roster is huge, I don't know if he can bring this team back from the basements. Their names on the other hand are all fun to say. That give off that fashionableness that I love to hear. I think their names are the best together but FS’s Jungle and ADC player carried them to first.
6th - FS [+2]
Player Name Ranking: 1st
Fraud Squad came off a shaky 1- 1. They didn’t look hot in their first game against TAS, taking unnecessary skirmishes and an inability to close out the game quickly. Then their loss against HBK was decisive. They’re still a new team that has a lot to work on, so I am still optimistic about them. In particular, I think their farming and their macro needs to step up for them to be able to compete against the teams above them. While their gameplay was interesting, their names are the clear best in the tournament. Boasting the best name in the tournament inoutyomouth changed to IOYM in the jungle, who looked good on trundle, dropping pillars… On faces… They also have RawDogRoss. Maybe they can live up to their player rankings and shoot their shots higher, coming out with a clean week two and a baby to boot.
5th - SKL [+2]
Player Name Ranking : 6th
While SKL had an 0-2 opening, one of their losses came from SER and the other a forfeit to COF. I was actually really impressed with their game one performance. Their macro was exceptional, unfortunately they were just edged out by better macro. My reason for ranking them higher than the teams below them is because I think the teams below have glaring weaknesses specifically in the macro department. Their ADC player Zishan is the carry in both the name ranking and their actual ranking seems to be the star of this team. Their drafts were pretty good, specifically the first game their team comp was good with the double globals on Galio and Nocturne. Zishan has the clear best name on the team with Turbo Int coming in second and lucky fridge in third. The only reason it's not higher is because they lack fun names to say.
4th - SER [+2]
Player Name Ranking : 3rd
The white knights of SER gaming came out rolling in game one with one of the most dominant stomps I've seen in FOF history. Their first game really can’t be understated, their macro in particular, was extremely clean. While their game one was convincing against SKL who also showed good macro in their loss to SER, their second game wasn't great falling to BBZ pretty convincingly. SER is still a new team but if they can replicate their game one performance they will be easily the most fearsome team. SER also ranks high in the name rankings and has some cold names like frozen incursion. Please laugh. I am begging even if it's just pity. Ahem, their names have enough swag for me to feel comfortable picking them high.
3rd - BBZ [-1]
Player Name Ranking: 6th
The old farts organization known as BBZ had a shaky start to the first week. Seeing their devastating loss in week one reminded me of the beating I received for walking into the wrong bathroom. But just like me they picked themselves off the urine stained tiles to bounce back taking a convincing win against team white knights or Team SER. While I have huge questions with them going forward I thought it was unfair to put them any lower. While they became mice to a cat in heat they managed very well against SER who just came off one the cleanest wins that I have ever seen in FOF. This team really depends on how they can mesh together having two question marks in the bot and mid lane roles. They come in at 6 for name rankings, while they do have the synergy of the BBZ tag, their top Jafy has yet to change so until then, they are slotting in at 6 as what could have been.
2nd - HBK [+2]
Player Name Ranking: 8th
Team H-block, a former mythic league team, came out swinging smashing FS with some impressive KDA scores from all members. In particular their mid Idrees and their junglee FlorahL dominated FS racking up 23 kills, 0 deaths, and 33 assists combined between the two. At the moment, the only team to beat team H-block is Team H-block, handing a win with their FF to COF. For long-time viewers with memory slightly above a goldfish, Team H-block last season also started off great going 3-0 against Diamond and Master-tier players. Let's hope they can build on the amazing start and not have a Jenga incident again, where they lost in a game of Jenga, then their mom takes away their favorite red wagon and leaves it out in the rain…
Thanks for coming back after the commercial break for me to talk about their names. Honestly team H-block has the consensus worst names. For me the adc is literally named after the team, and none are fun to say nor do they give off the swag I’m after.
1st - YUBI [+/-]
Player Name Ranking: 7th
The cat boys are the clear number one, coming out of the litter box smacking fools left and right. Yet again the cat boys are topping the charts in Kitten Deaths Avoided or KDA. Jeff topped all FOF players cashing in 25 kittens, only one kitten death and 17 avoidances of kitten deaths. They subbed in Joushi in the top lane who posted impressive performances in his traitorous stint in the Luna league. From sources that I won't reveal, their usual top Freelancer216 was hiding in a hole over the prospect of facing new competition. Missing their top whisker didn’t affect them. With the help of the dino cat they managed to stomp both BBZ and TAS convincingly. While their names are lacking the meme potential and swag that I require, their gameplay spoke for themselves as they snack on another wet can of competition.
