Brendan’s Week 1 Luna Power Rankings
8/15/2021
“This is your royal overlord Brendan AKA FangOverFang, AKA Tyrant King Of Helios, and this is my power rankings. I am as surprised as you are to see me not banned from FOF, but instead I’ve been promoted to flaming people weekly. For Season 4, we’ve gotten rid of Mythic and extended the former Heroic League into two separate leagues: the Luna League and the vastly superior Helios League. A trend I noticed with teams towards the bottom of my ranking is that a lot of the players aren’t playing their main role in the tournament, or they’re playing multiple roles. Not main-ing just one which ultimately landed them towards the bottom. For this ranking I wrote a little more about the teams I have more information on. Once the season goes on it will be more even. This is a prediction and the weekly rankings will change obviously; this is simply my predictions for the upcoming season and where teams will finish. Don’t be afraid to critique me. I am critiquing you guys it's only right you do the same. Okay, I stalled long enough no more beach episodes time to finally get into the plot.”
- Brendan (FangOverFang)
8th - FS
Team Fraud Squad aka Team ex-girlfriend have all new players that we haven’t seen before. Just like my ex-girlfriend, FS is hoping to sneak up and ruin teams’ hopes and happiness by taking the house for themselves. Although I am putting them at 8th because we know so little about the team, they're leading candidates for best names. Like InOutYourMouth, their Jungler who has a mean Fiddlesticks. Or their Mid Laner, GouchMaster with his proficiency in AP champions like Neeko and Xerath. If you thought the sexual names were over you are grossly wrong, let me introduce you to my boy RawDogRoss who plays a lot of Vayne. Froahmurphy who has one of the only nonsexual names on this team is the ADC player who has surprisingly good KDAs on most champions. Hopefully this team can come out of nowhere to take the dog.
7th - SKL
Skill Based is another new-ish team coming to FOF. This team is boosting my boss Theroclase in the Mid Lane who ints solo queue just as hard as he ints production. Theroclase plays a lot of Xerath and Ahri. Swing it to the top lane with Mr Turbo Int, who's named after all of my teammates. Sir Turbo plays a lot of bruisers and meatballs, Shen being his best pick. 1 Lucky Fridge is named after the fridge that saved Indiana Jones' life in the fourth movie. Nuke Fridge plays Viego and Volibear and from my quick Google search, he seems to be one of the better players on the team. Zishan, the ADC is their highest ranked player at Plat 2, and their support, Khevyn, is Gold 4. With every new team that comes to FOF, I expect them to bring excellent meme potential and opportunities for me to flame them on cast.
6th - SER
A new kid on the block, Team Serenity Senate, is hoping to prove that chivalry isn't dead this season. SER has a sister organization in the Helios League, Team TG. Both TG and SER are playing under one Org the Community Dubbed “14.99 Gaming”. Psweezy is one of the most underrated players in the league in my opinion, so I am really excited to see him playing again. For a team that costs a medium-sized pizza to play, we should expect big things from them. If they can win the league maybe the cost will be upgraded to a large pizza, but for now I’m slotting them into the 6th spot.
5th - TAS
Team Asorth, former Season 2 finalist, comes in at the 5th spot for me. This team plays aggressive and fast and are fun to watch but their issues are apparent. Their playstyle can only be described as horny: they go too hard, often not thinking of the consequences. They often go out drinking and partying and then waking up next to a special grade demon from jutsu kaisen. TAS plays a lot of Yone and Yasuo, efficiently slotting them in every role including Support. An all-vietnamese-speaking team - by definition, they should be better than the entire NA server. One of their main causes for their fall off of Season 3 was missing their jungler Yoinee who stepped away from the game, but has now returned. They are still bringing back their hyper aggressive bot lane duo, Gùa and Anh Bo. They made no changes from their roster. These players are all friends and have been playing since Season 2 together where they were fantastic. Let's see if the power of friendship can bring them on top.
4th - HBK
Team H-Block, a former mythic team, is finally in the rank they belong. Even though they had a rough go of it playing against diamond and master players, they are now playing against players similarly ranked as them. They made no changes from their roster that went 6-8 but I expect them to look a lot better. HBK also started off really hot at the beginning of Season 3 going 3-1 in the opening two weeks. It started great from them but we were left unsatisfied which is a saying I am told a lot by my ex-girlfriends. They need to keep up that hard start and not throw the lead like my Solo Queue teammates.
3rd - COF
My pick for third is Church of Alphonzo, formerly known as Falcon E-sports (FEC). Along with the name change, the former falcons have a new mid player RHC, and a new adc player ColdBlaster. They finished second in the regular season going 10-4 tied with INT. The church boys were one of the new kids who took over FOF in Season 3. Camelbasil and WildWestWild were the stars of the squad last season. Them not being in the squad for Season 4 hurts them but maybe they can pull out some transmutation circles and philosopher stones to sneak into the higher two spots. I also talked to some of their opponents who seemed impressed by them during scrims. With a new team they’re like a wildcard, but it's in the luck of the draw. Sadly this team lacks the meme power that I desperately require of them. So let us pray to the Church of Alphonzo that they give the memes and performances that we know they can give us.
2nd - BBZ
Blue Bayou Zoo, the OG team who’s been around since Season 1 of FOF, slot in at the second spot. Although they are now missing our royal overlord Chris Sunga, I am confident in their ability to get back to their winning ways. They have a new Top Laner, Jafy who I personally have been playing with for years now. They are bringing in Teph (formally Rat AutoCrat), from PTP, and Orphic from SPE moving to support. The team is slotting in Red, their former ADC player, into Mid and keeping Dakks in the Jungle role. This team is really interesting and I think they can either boom or bust which sounds like a sexual euphemism that surprisingly isn’t somehow. Role-swapping one of the best ADCs in the League to Mid and one of the best Top players to Support can be risky.
1st - YUBI
The most obvious of choices to come in first, the Season 3 champions are back in black. Every player from the defending champs are returning from their historic Season 3 run where they only dropped 1 game in the regular season to INT, former Season 2 champions. Their season was truly dominant in every way topping every statistical category on their run to win it all. While every player performed exceptionally, I believe their ADC player JeffGodGamer and their Mid player Sivolock stood out a bit from the rest. Although the cats picked senna and begged me to put them at the bottom, since I care more about being right then satisfying them here, they are at the number one spot. They led the leaderboards in KDA, Kills, Assists, Memes Dropped, and sandwiches consumed. Nobody is more deserving of the number one spot. Unless they pick Senna, or refuse to drop more memes then I will be forced to drop them down spots.
