Match Times: 1 PM PST up to 8 PM PST (see rulebook)

We’re bringing it back!

For those who are new here, Captains Draft is a special tournament we attempted last year where players are allowed to draft completely new teams from a registered pool of players. Get ready to see some crazy mix-ups like Musicboy and Antoons in the bot lane! Last time, we operated this event with a particular point system - there will be no point/budget system this time around as all ranks are allowed to play and be drafted.

General Tournament Info

Tournament Format

Day 1

  • April 14th; 4PM - 8PM PST

  • All teams will play one simultaneous Best-of-Three series against their first opponents. Not all matches will be streamed but recordings will be uploaded.

Day 2

  • April 15th

  • Loser’s Bracket = 1PM - 4:30PM PST

  • Winner’s Bracket = 4:30PM - 8PM PST

  • All matches will be Best-of-Three and casted on a pre-recorded basis and will be streamed after a short delay.

  • In the event of an odd number of winning teams, the losing team with the best record and longest average loss-time will be promoted to the Winner’s Bracket as well.

Day 3

  • April 16th

  • 3rd Place Match (Bo3) = 1PM PST

  • Grand Finals (Bo5) = Afterwards

  • All games will be broadcasted

  • Grand Finals will be a Best-of-Five series

Draft Day

  • April 1st @ 3PM PST

  • Captains will snake-draft from the available player pool until each team has 5 players on stream. In the case of interested players not being a clean multiple of 5, undrafted players will be eligible as universal substitutes for any teams requiring them throughout the event.

Player Eligibility

  • Players of all ranks are eligible to participate in this event.

  • All participants must be ranked in Solo/Duo Queue in the current season before the player draft.

  • Captains will be forced to draft themselves in the snake draft. The round they draft themselves will be based on their peak rank of the current and previous two seasons relative to the overall player pool. This allows for players of all ranks to sign up as captains without a competitive disadvantage.
