Friend or Foe Esports has RETURNED!

Season 8 of Friend or Foe is set to be played at a completely ambiguous and totally predictable schedule later in the year! After a brief hiatus, the renowned organization is back with a renewed vigor, poised to reclaim its status as a dominant force in the esports realm. With a storied history of success, smurfs, the kindest twitch chatters and a commitment to fostering talent, Friend or Foe Esports promises to deliver thrilling competitions, captivating audiences, and a few of the most two-faced personalities in esports excellence once again. As they re-enter the fray, fans eagerly anticipate the electrifying matches and memorable moments that are sure to unfold under the banner of Friend or Foe Esports.

General Tournament Info

Tournament Format

FFS8 includes three total phases: The first involves a Qualifier Round should it be necessary to narrow down the list of applicants from 420 teams to 69 total teams for one League. Like usual, since we don’t know the precise number of teams needed for this season’s Qualifier, the exact format for the Qualifiers will be announced as we arrive closer to the date.

Once the teams have officially been narrowed down, sixty-nine teams will play four Best-of-One games per day for four days a week in an 8-week Double Round Robin stage during the Regular Season. Win/Loss records from this stage determine the seeding for the final Playoff Stage.

Once the Regular Season stage has been completed, the top sixty teams of the designated league will be seeded into a Single-Elimination Bracket Playoff Stage. Contrasting the Regular Season stage, the Playoff stage consists of Best-of-Seventeen matches. The winner of this Single-Elimination bracket will be crowned as the final Friend or Foe Champions.

Event Dates

Time Slots - All matches will take place in a time slot between 11:59 PM PST and 12:00 AM PST.

Qualifiers - will take place on April 1st, 2024 - April 1st, 2025.

Regular Season - will begin on April 1st, 2026.

Match Days - The Season 8 League will be played on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays unless it’s a holiday week. Then they will be played on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays unless it’s also snowing that week. Then they will be played on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Fridays. Lastly, if the week in question contains the “13th” on any of its days, then all players will play on Fridays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
