FFS5 Tournament Information

01/10/2022

Happy New Year! We hope you’ve enjoyed your holidays, but it’s time for us to get back to work. We’re very excited to open sign-ups for the FFS5 Heroic and Mythic Leagues, as well as beginning our Valorant Trials. We’d also like to take the opportunity to once again congratulate our current reigning champions, Yuumiversal Basic Income and Rex Regalis for winning FFS4!

Tournament Format

The FFS LoL Format features three total stages in the tournament. The Qualifiers, Regular Season, then Playoffs.

  1. The Qualifier Round is used when more than eight teams sign-up for a League. Because we don’t know the precise number of teams needed for a Qualifier right now, we won’t be able to release its format until closer to when sign-ups close.

    • Every team that signs up should expect to participate in a Qualifier.

  2. The eight teams that make it through the Qualifiers will move on to the Regular Season. The eight teams will play two Best-of-One games a week in a 7-week Double Round Robin stage.

  3. The win/loss records from the Regular Season stage determine the seeding for a Single-Elimination Playoff Bracket. Contrasting the Regular Season stage, the Playoff stage consists of Best-of-Five matches. The winner of this bracket will be crowned as Friend or Foe Champions.

League Eligibility

Friend or Foe will be hosting two Leagues for this season: The Heroic League and the Mythic League.

  • The Heroic League will consist of Platinum and below players, while the Mythic League will be kept Open Rank (all ranks may participate).

    • The Mythic League will have a $20-per-team registration fee paid upon qualifying for the Regular Season that will contribute to the prize winnings.

Your 2021 and 2022 Solo/Duo Queue ranks will be taken into account for your eligibility, with the highest rank taking precedence. More information on Ranked requirements can be found in the Rule List.

Event Dates

Heroic League matches will be played on Mondays and Tuesdays while Mythic League matches will be played on Thursdays and Fridays within a time slot between 4:00 PM PST and 8:00 PM PST. During the Qualifiers, teams should be ready to play up to three hours per match day.

FoF Message

Thank you once again for your support for the past year and a half. I still am overwhelmed with players’ passion and dedication to both the game and their fellow teammates. I love competition and making a space for it to grow, so I appreciate your contribution to my project. I hope you continue to support us. I’m aiming to make the show a better and more exciting experience for both players and viewers. See you soon.
