FFS4 Tournament Information

Registration is now fully open for Friend or Foe LoL Season 4! Not too long ago, we witnessed our current reigning champions Yuumiversal Basic Income and Poseidon Gaming take over our league. We’ve had such a positive response from our last season’s tournament that we’re extremely excited to get to continue!

League Eligibility

Last Season, we ran a Heroic (Plat-Under) and a Mythic (Plat-Above) League. We’ve been running this system for two seasons and we’ve loved having it. However, truthfully our Mythic League’s interest has declined while our Heroic League applications have exponentially increased. This has led us to suspend the Mythic League officially for FFS4 and run two Heroic-level Leagues. If more interest sparks for a Mythic-level League in the future, we may bring it back, but as far as FFS4 stands, we’ll be running two leagues with the intent where players ranked Platinum and below can play either on Mondays and Tuesdays or Thursdays and Fridays.

Since it felt weird for us to continue calling the two leagues “Heroic” and “Mythic”, the two Platinum-Under Leagues will be called the “Helios” and “Luna” League for FFS4. Players ranked Solo Queue Platinum I or below in both the 2020 and 2021 Seasons are eligible to participate.

Event Dates

All matches will take place in a time slot between 4:00 PM PST and 8:00 PM PST.

Qualifiers will take place on August 5th-17th.

The Helios League will be played on Thursdays & Fridays starting on August 19th, 2021.

The Luna League will be played on Mondays & Tuesdays starting on August 23rd, 2021.

The schedule is staggered like so to have Wednesday (patch days) be the start of a “week”.

  • Week 1 Aug 19 - Aug 25

  • Week 2 Aug 26 - Sep 1

  • Week 3 Sep 2 - Sep 8

  • Week 4 Sep 9 - Sep 15

  • Week 5 Sep 16 - Sep 22

  • Week 6 Sep 23 - Sep 29

  • Week 7 Sep 30- Oct 6

  • Break Week Oct 7 - Oct 13

  • Quarterfinals Oct 14 - Oct 20

  • Semifinals Oct 21 - Oct 27

  • Grand Finals Oct 28 - Nov 3

Tournament Format

The FFS4 Tournament Format is nearly the same as FFS3, including three total phases. The first involves a Qualifier Round should it be needed. We have a lot of players returning and a lot of new players waiting to submit their applications. That being said, since we don’t know the precise number of teams needed for this season’s Qualifier, the exact format for the Qualifiers will be announced as we arrive closer to the date.

Once the season officially starts with the final sixteen teams, the eight Helios and eight Luna Teams will play two Best-of-One games a week in a 7-week Double Round Robin stage. Win/Loss records from this stage determine the seeding for the final Playoff Stage.

Once the Regular Season stage has been completed, the top six teams of the designated league will be seeded into a Single-Elimination Bracket. Contrasting the Regular Season stage, the Playoff stage consists of Best-of-Five matches. The winner of this Single-Elimination bracket will be crowned as Friend or Foe Helios or Luna Champions.

Prizing

Similar to FFS3, the winning teams receive the following rewards for their participation and dedication to our league:

  • Championship Title

  • Championship Art Piece

  • $500 donated to a Charity of your choice

As a completely new organization still looking to grow, we’d like to thank all of our players and supporters for constantly engaging with our community and stream. We’d also like to thank our Twitch Subs, Logitech, Limitless, and Adobe Creative Cloud for making these charity prize pools possible.
