Edwin’s Week 2 Mythic Power Rankings

“I’m Ed. These are my power rankings. Prove me wrong. Also we say “y’all” a lot.
Side note: expect these power rankings to fluctuate a bit during the first half of the season. A lot of these rankings are usually based off how a team performs and if they can stay consistent. More likely once we reach week 5, Power Rankings will become more stable.”

8th - RLS [+/-]
Y’all are still my favorite team to ref because as I mentioned from last week, it is the effort y’all put in to do the research of your opponents and find ways to stay in it. It is inspiring to watch and listen to y’all communicate together and not flame your friends when the game does not go your way. No matter the challenge that is ahead, y’all always have your heads up looking to improve by staying together a little extra longer after your match to rewatch the games again. I know the players in the Mythic League are a huge challenge and overall they have a lot of experience in League of Legends. If there is a tip that I want to throw out for all the members in RLS, it is that when you rewatch the games. Instead of focusing what y’all did wrong, watch what the other team does right, and then copy it. Don’t lose your focus, stay hungry to win.
7th - BABY [-1]
Y’all do have the talent to be big playmakers in the league and when y’all invited former ATL jungler Found into the squad, things could be looking up. Maybe it’s the lack of chemistry that’s isn’t holding this team together but it’s still very early in the season. With a little more practice and scrims, it would improve your team’s early game because that is what I see as this team’s main weakness. The champions aren't the problem but scaling up to get where the team needs to be is the issue. The season is still young and there is time for all of you to work as a team to fix those weaknesses. Good luck against Team H-Block as they are looking to stay undefeated. Who knows, tomorrow could be the day y’all give them their first lost of the season.
6th - OOD [-2]
I still have high hopes for Team Ooh Deer as they were close to defeat The Ugly Barnacles in their recent match up. Antoons is by far looking like their best player and consistently helping Photograph and the rest of the members of OOD to be threats in the league. However, Ryhre and Krumpy were able to get an early gold lead and push their gold advantage to victory.
However, Antoons and Soximus were huge during their game against Ruby Light Sketchers as the 2 players were able to make plays from all phases of the game and securing their first win in day 1 of week 1. However, that is a team ranked low in our list. RLS are doing what it is they can do to be challengers in the Mythic League. Moving forward, I feel OOD needs to do their part to stay consistent and not let Antoons and Soximus be the main carries. They have a big test ahead of them next week as they will play against POG.
5th - TUB [+/-]
Why is The Ugly Barnacles #5 for this week Power Rankings? Honestly, it was difficult to determine the top 4 as TUB did secure a win against Team Ooh Deer but it was a relatively close game. We saw both sides have trouble closing out the game, but in the end, TUB won the game when Rhyre and Dirty Oppland caught out OOD Soximus and cleaned up OOD’s carries to close the game out in 39 minutes of gameplay. All I can say afterwards is that Rhyre is a big playmaker for the team and Krumpy is doing work in the Mid-lane showing us as the audience that he can carry the game in multiple roles. Now it is time to see if they can stay undefeated against Team ACE in their next match up.
4th - HBK [+3]
Wow, was I wrong about you guys because you have proven to be great individual players on the Rift. ProLupul, I have to say that you definitely deserve the spotlight because many players would be hard-tilted playing the game from behind in your match against SGR. Yet, you kept your head in the game and played within your team composition’s strengths and it was all about going all-in when your team was there to support you. I’m excited to see much more from your team and how y’all will do against Team Beep Boop and The Ugly Barnacles.
3rd - POG [-2]
Poseidon Gaming’s rematch of last season’s Grand Finals against Team ACE didn’t necessarily go in their favor as they gave up first blood in the opening minutes when SwordBlue landed his Rocket Grab onto Crit Addict, setting their pace early. At times I felt that POG was a step behind Team A-click throughout the early game and they were not able to grab any momentum for a comeback. Though the very next day, Poseidon Gaming look like the team we all expected. Bobrovsky was able to create his play very early in the top lane to secure first blood onto Jafy. Then the team as a whole collapsed onto Team Beep Boop in the bot lane, wiping out any hope for BABY to come back. On paper, I feel like POG is still a beast of a team. Maybe game 1 was a good wake up call for them.
2nd - SGR [+1]
SGR are quick to make adjustments as they had figured out what was wrong with their team composition from the first match up against H-Block, and it was the lack of damage. It was a good draft but there was no damage and HBK Crono as Taric become an issue during team fights. The following day, y’all had a banger of a game against Team ACE. DemonLord Nnaoy had a great day as Kayn by making plenty of plays all around the map and executing a sick dodge from SwordBlue’s Pyke ultimate ability. Hepate as Wukong was an incredible disruptor for the team fights while also securing kills for himself in lane. I could go on and continue to talk about every member on the team but overall, I was happy to see how fast y’all are to figure out the mistakes and rebound from a lost.
1st - ACE [+1]
Team ACE started the season strong by defeating Poseidon Gaming during their rematch of Season 2 Grand Finals. For almost the entirety of the game, ACE was able to make plays left and right while also keeping the pressure on the side lanes which led POG to play on their heels. It was fun to watch Vambient do work as Udyr during that game as he would find himself to be the clean-up man for the team. Delete was a beast as Nocturne by showing up out of nowhere in team fights and pressuring the sides with Burstlimit. Now, y’all may have had a difficult time playing against SGR as the draft may not been in your favor. However, it was a fun, banger of a game to watch and I’m positive that ACE will come back in week 2 to play.
