Edwin’s Week 5 Heroic Power Rankings

Click to see Week 4’s Power Rankings

“Burstlimit has withdrawn from writing the Power Rankings for the Heroic League. However we will continue to deliver these articles for your enjoyment and in collaboration with me and a few FoF staff members.

It’s important to note that Power Rankings are a general assessment of how they will perform in the upcoming week based off what we most recently have seen. A way of looking at it is, ‘how well would these teams do if they all played each other again right now today.’”

8th - PTP [+/-]

PTP is starting to challenge many teams during the laning phase of the game. For example, during the match up with INT, they were able to hold their own and create a gold advantage going into the mid game, putting you in a position to snowball your lead to victory. However, and this happens quite a bit with all the team, the team fighting aspect of the game needs work. There would be times where if the positioning was just a little bit different, the game state would be in PTP’s favor.

Going into the second half, we’re looking to see if proper positioning for future fights will fix a lot of this team’s current struggles. I hope to see greatness from y’all soon.

7th - TAS [+/-]

Ohhhkayyyyy Team Asorth. Y’all come up with some risky comps bringing out the Yasuo and Yone bot lane, but unfortunately YUBI was very much prepared for it. This team finds ways to make plays and your 1v9 confidence is still alive. My take is to fix the early game more so that you have a better chance to win out in these risky, flashy plays.

Going into the second half, TAS can look to repeat their success last season with a potential second-half buff. It really just depends on them. But fixing the early game and stabilizing the gold difference will be the key to unlocking TAS

6th - SPE [+1]

SPE won against BBZ, but lost to their sister team again, SWO. At this point we’re unsure if Sword is Spear’s kryptonite, or if Spear is BBZ’s kryptonite. Something about ShieldedValor making BBZ lose again feels scripted. Anyway, SPE has weird games where one half of the map has a lot of action, and the other half of the map has SPE players wandering around as if they’re unsure what to do. Then the next day it all completely flips.

Going into the second half, a lot of training needs to be focused in on the team’s shot calling. SPE needs to lock down a person they can all trust to lead the team. I could be wrong, and shot calling may not be their issue, but I’m seeing a lot of hesitation from these players.

5th - SWO [+/-]

Team Sword, I honestly thought you were going to be the team that would s**t the bricks the whole season, but y’all have honestly slapped me in the face and proved me wrong thus far. I enjoyed seeing everyone play hard at every moment of the game. No matter the situation, SWO gives me ““LEEEERRROOOOOY” vibes where they all scream at the top of their lungs during team fights.

Going into the second half, all eyes are on the newbies to the team. Getting more experience in scrims and in official games might help SWO break into the Top 4. Best of luck with the remaining half of the season and give it your best against the top dogs.

4th - INT [-1]

Our league is now tougher than before, especially when you become the number one targets of every team’s hitlist. INT are still a strong team that hasn’t lost their touch of the game but are now playing against players who are hungrier than ever to win. BoExplode87 still plays at a high level but I’m currently debating if his teammates are on the same page as him because I expected dominant games from INT once they had their full roster together but they looked to be out-of-tune with each other.

3rd - FEC [+1]

Since Paytim3’s addition to the team, FEC has looked more concrete with their game plans. It probably helps to have a coach-player enter the Rift, but I don’t want to take away credit from any of his teammates. BeshyWap and WildWestWild performed exceptionally well against INT but the squad slightly faltered during the early game against TAS. Granted, TAS is a wild team that makes random things work out. Regardless, this team looks like they’re on the upswing after scoring a 2-0 week.

Going into the second half, FEC will receive more time and a full round robin with Paytim3. Obviously, the more they play with this new roster, the better FEC will look. Inversely, this gives the opposing teams more data on the new-and-improved FEC.

2nd - BBZ [+/-]

I’ve been exclaiming how proud I am to see this team completely change after the season 2 offseason. S2 BBZ was pretty whack. Nowadays, y’all are pretty tight to watch. There is a chance for BBZ to win it all but the key thing to take away is to not take every fight. Especially when your best player is dead. Walk from the battle but come back to again as a unit to win the war.

This team has gotten away with a lot of potential mistakes in their games. I’d like to hope the break week gave them enough time to scrub out their bad habits. Going into the second half, all eyes are on BBZ’s decision making.

1st - YUBI [+/-]

YUBI looks like they outclass every Heroic team this season to the point that they now can play against any matchup you decide to throw at them. This team makes extreme aggressive calls that delete you and your team off the rift. They are highly skilled and extremely intelligent.

The closest a team has gotten to a perfect record was ATL’s 11-1 record in Season 1. One slip up will spoil the chance to be the first team to have a perfect record in Friend or Foe. Going into the second half, everyone’s eyes are on this team to see if they can continue their winning streak.
