Burstlimit’s Week 7 Heroic Power Rankings

Hey guys, Burstlimit here to do the power rankings (Edwin’s on vacation) leading into the final week of the regular season. These rankings were based purely off of last weekend’s results and little knowledge of the long-term as I have not watched much matches after I stopped doing power rankings.

8th - PTP [+/-]

Team Pentakill Teemo Please’s record is no secret. I’m not going to beat a dead horse as I’m sure they know their record. I am nothing but proud for team PTP for sticking it out and playing every match, without just giving up and doing for-fun picks. Team PTP did win one game against SWO in an exhibition match. Coming back from what looked like an unwinnable game, PTP clawed their way back and fought against the likes of team SWO with Rat Autocrat almost getting a pentakill two times. Solid interview, not many interviews because they never got more than one, but still, solid interview.

7th - TAS [+/-]

Team TAS is a team that I’m sure everyone respects, regardless of their current record. Being last season’s runner-ups, TAS has struggled to maintain a top spot and is currently facing the most important weekend yet. If team SWO loses both matches and TAS wins both matches, a tiebreaker will ensue which means we cannot count them out yet. In terms of their interviews, S++ grade for team TAS. Instead of giving up and accepting the dire situation, TAS believes in their ability to head into this coming week with a clear mental and confident mindset. I wish TAS the best of luck.

6th - SWO [+/-]

Team Sword is a little hard to evaluate because they only really played one match last weekend. However, in their match, they showed great early-game promise building a big lead against TAS. I believe each player individually can face any individual from the higher ranked teams but I don’t think this team’s teamfighting is where it needs to be to compete against the likes of FEC or YUBI. They’ve shown that they can mechanically perform on an individual level, but just a few tweeks and they can shock everyone. In terms of their interviews, I give it an A+. I love the fact that the player interviewed chose to shit-talk the only team thats close to their record and is gonna make the playoffs rather than shit-talk then higher up teams. It’s both pathetic and awesome and I can’t wait to see how they perform in this final week.

5th - SPE [-2]

Team Spear is a team that has been showing great performances since the halfway break, only dropping a single game to YUBI since. This team is like a more unstable BBZ in the idea that they can really beat the shit out of their opponents but also can just int it all away. They have good understandings of what they need to do but I think they tunnel too hard on certain plays which results in them, not throwing exactly, but making the game harder for themselves to win... However, this team has great promise and is a real threat. I’d say this team has the worst interviews below INT because at least they try to spice it up. I thought SPE might be the team to just talk massive shit because of what Orphic puts in #trash-talk but it’s quite the opposite. Disappointing interviews overall.

4th - BBZ [+1]

Like Team INT, this team hasn’t exactly met my expectations, however, there’s still two more games and a 7-5 record isn’t bad at all. Team BBZ is like a coinflip, their either rail the shit out of you with their extremely high mechanical skill cap, or they just FF 15 but they cant FF because that’s not a good show so it’s just sad to watch for 26 minutes. I was honestly hoping for a S1 Sunga-Torrez mirror with Lyhtz and Dakks being two strong individual players but it’d be disrespectful to put those names near ours. However, their ability to popoff is no joke. I’d argue that this team is the scariest when each member is locked in and on point. If they want to win this entire tournament, they need to get into a confident and winning mindset. For their interviews, I’d say they have the best interviews among the top 4 teams. Nice, simple, and humble, can’t really talk shit when you’re losing, I would know.

3rd - FEC [-1]

Not really too sure what everyone’s opinion on Falcons is but we think of FEC as the Invictus Gaming/dark horse coming into this season’s. Fun fact but BoExplode87 actually flamed me for putting FEC at 3rd at the start of the season. They are currently 1-1 against team INT and BBZ, however, both losses to those two teams were their first matches against those teams. In both rematches, FEC dominated the f*** out of both teams, essentially gapping every lane. However, this team still falls short to YUBI with an 0-2 record against them overall. I believe this team has what it takes to win but they need to make sure they don’t fall to the pressure of these other top teams and keep this level of performance in a best-of-three. This team’s biggest weakness are their interviews to be honest. Why so monotone man it’s like a 30-week season at least talk some shit @CamelBasil.

2nd - INT [+2]

Despite being the reigning champions and having high expectations, INT has experienced a rocky season to say the least, however, INT has shown a bit of a comeback after going 2-0 against BBZ and YUBI, two of the more feared teams. INT has always had great teamplay and synergy which seems to have been the deal breaker in their match against team YUBI, which felt like a finals game. I have high hopes for this team in playoffs but we think the team needs to have stronger early-mid game performances instead of relying on scaling and comebacks. This team literally has the worst interview spice. They're the only god-forsaken team that even tries to talk shit so I have to give them at least an A-. It’s like watching the skinny nerd that no one knows try to stand up to the bullies and BoExplode is like the friend who tries to hype him up but the execution just isn’t there.

1st - YUBI [+/-]

Team Yuumiversal Basic Income has a chance at tying team ATL’s nearly undefeated season of 13-1 (technically 11-1). Their great drafts paired with strong mechanics has helped them win many of their games so hard that it almost feels unfair. Four teammates in the top four of the KDA leaderboard and JeffGodGamer having a 20 kill total lead over CamelBasil. It’s apparent that they have a clear IDENTITY picking the same champs quite often, such as Galio, Samira and Vayne. I believe this team has great strengths and are the favorites but they need to better utilize their leads in order to close out games as they did experience their first lost against INT. In terms of their interviews, they’re alright. In terms of the YUBI FEC interview, I wish they’d talk about the curbstomped FEC but I guess the bra-less girlfriend is cool too. If Chris Edgeworth says “any other thoughts”, and you’re undefeated, thats your queue to say “these teams are f***ing horrible”. Not the worst though.
